Johnson + Johnson Indigo Optima Laser System
The award winning Ethicon Endo-Surgery Indigo Optima Laser was designed as a mobile diode laser unit for clinic office environments. This laser provides a minimally invasive treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia using a thermotherapy process known as interstitial laser coagulation and was designed to be as compact a possible with a simple, intuitive control panel. Stryker Medical Birthing Bed
Stryker’s maternity bed was designed to ensure the best possible birthing experiences for mothers to be, nurses, and attending physicians. The bed offers outstanding patient comfort with advanced ergonomics and intuitive controls, flexible support features, with improved mobility. A visual indicator on the foot section confirms a locked position. Advanced ergonomics ensured proper body mechanics, helping to reduce the risks of caregiver back stress or injury.
Innovations include an inflatable lumbar support, removable foot section and a powered Skoocher which set the standard for the maternity industry. Other features include an ergonomic contoured fluid basin, three-position side rails, CPR release, automatic night-light, central brake and steer and IV pole. Utility Patent
Rushahb Instruments Rotary Stainer
Laboratories routinely stain biological tissue specimens deposited on laboratory slides for subsequent pathologic examination to detect and/or monitor tissue abnormalities. Product council worked with Rushabh to develop a rotary stainer that met the rigors of daily laboratory use. Creating a product with low volume production at a cost competitive manufacturing price was at the heart of the design and engineering challenge.
Hologic Gen-Probe DTS 400
Hologic Gen-Probe is a global leader in the development, manufacture of molecular diagnostic products and services that are used primarily to diagnose human diseases, screen donated human blood, and ensure transplant compatibility. The DTS 400 can generate up to 400 test results in 8 hours.
Product council created a cost-competitive housing and a simple user-interface. Ease of assembly and component layout were carefully executed to maximize on condensing the footprint.
iPager of Illinois IPager
The iPager is a programmable communication device created to facilitate interoffice communications. One can send a page anywhere in the office without the use of a satellite, cell phone, or computer. Product council designed this to be simple and intuitive use. The belt clip was an integral part of the product and was designed to flip the pager up into a horizontal position so that the text could be easily be read without taking it off the belt. The charging stations were designed to "daisy chain", connecting multiple units to charge at once and mount in a unified manner.
Abbott Diagnostics Vysis GenoSensor
The Vysis GenoSensor Microarray System was created specifically for genomic research and to simultaneously detect chromosomal amplifications or deletions of multiple genes in various human cancers. This was the industry's first commercially available system that allowed researchers to rapidly identify and discover key genomic correlations in disease occurrence and outcome.
The GenoSensor was designed to provide cost-effective manufacturing, minimal piece parts, ease of assembly, and ease of serviceability. Product council also designed the reagent packaging for this product.
